The holiday season is a time to introduce new ideas with our cherished traditions, creating a space that feels both fresh and familiar. As most of you may know, my sister Lisa and I have made holiday decorating a special family tradition, combining our creativity while spending meaningful time together.
As a designer, I revel in the opportunity to curate our home with thoughtful details, blending timeless elegance with cozy seasonal charm.
Let me take you on a tour of our home and share some design tips to help inspire your Christmas decor this year.
The Front Entrance
Our home greets guests with a welcoming touch of winter greenery. Layers of spruce, pine and cedar foliage are paired with vibrant red stems that contrast beautifully against white birch logs.
Tip: Make use of what’s around you! Foraging local greenery is not only free, but also ensures the freshest and most natural decor.
First impressions matter, as the front entryway sets the tone for the entire home.
This year, I’ve adorned my front console with a luxurious garland featuring eucalyptus, pine, Christmas lights and an array of gold accents.
Tip: Choose a cohesive color scheme for your front entryway decor to create a welcoming and refined look.
The Living Room

The front living room embodies understated elegance with a soothing neutral palette of soft whites. Glass ornaments, soft textiles, and warmly lit candles come together seamlessly, fostering a serene and unified atmosphere.
Our new textured table lamps bring depth and sophistication to the design, enhancing warm and intimate lighting throughout the room.
Tip: Combine candlelight with thoughtfully placed lighting such as lamps and fairy lights, to create a cozy and inviting ambiance, ideal for holiday gathering or relaxing evenings.
The Dining Room

The dining table takes center stage for holiday gatherings. Adorned with a lush green garland and berries, complemented by crystal candle holders for a fresh and minimal aesthetic. The decor beautifully compliments the crystal chandelier above.
Tip: Use varying heights with candles, greenery, and decor pieces to add dimension and elegance to your dining room table and sideboard.

The Kitchen
The kitchen, often the heart of holiday activity, benefits from simple festive touches.

This year we replaced our rectangular kitchen table for a round pedestal table from Polanco Home, introducing a softer aesthetic that complements our newly renovated kitchen.
Mini potted evergreens and Norfolk wreaths add a fresh, natural element to the kitchen area.
Tip: Decorate the kitchen by using minimal decor to keep the space functional, yet stylish. Incorporate small, thoughtful details like seasonal greenery to infuse holiday spirit.
The Family Room

The family room is a serene retreat for holiday gatherings, where soft neutral drapes and light furnishings create a peaceful backdrop.
Our vibrant green traditional Christmas tree, adorned with sparkling lights and elegant ornaments, adds a festive touch to the space.
This year, I’ve embraced a timeless palette of white, green, and natural wood tones to bring a fresh, harmonious feel to the room.
Tip: Incorporate natural wood elements and greenery to add both texture and warmth, creating a refined and cozy holiday atmosphere.
Mandy’s Home Office

Our newly furnished home office blends modern functionality with a bold holiday twist. Featuring contemporary furniture with clean lines, the space combines black and pink holiday elements to create a stylish environment that’s perfect for both productivity and relaxation.
You didn’t think we’d get through the holiday home tour without adding my favourite colour?!
The vibrant pink Christmas tree, adorned with metallic ornaments, serves as a striking focal point against the sleek monochromatic palette.
I’ve created a balanced design with black Christmas decor that complements the glass coffee table and ceramic lamp, while soft pink accents add warmth and elegance to the room.

Designing your home for Christmas is all about creating a space that feels both beautiful and meaningful. Every ornament, every ribbon, every flicker of candlelight tells a story. This year, as I gather with loved ones, surrounded by the warmth of the season, I’m reminded of how a thoughtfully designed home can bring so much joy.
From my designer home to yours, wishing you a holiday season filled with love, laughter, and timeless style.
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!
