I am excited to share this year’s holiday home tour with you all! You will see new introductions, as well as our traditional favourites shown year after year. Over the past few years my sister Lisa joins me to creatively collaborate ideas and spend time together decorating for the holiday season. It brings me joy to create a cheerful and festive atmosphere in our home for our friends & family to enjoy.
Front Entryway
The decorative bells are purchased through one of the suppliers from Polanco Home Decor. As previously seen in our last holiday home tour is our white Briallen console. I love the elegant gold floral handle and how the sculptured petals add a unique charm to the entrance.
The Christmas tree in the entrance is filled with a variety of dazzling ornaments collected over the years. I love to add decorative birds as they remind me of my Mom, especially at this time of year. The gold reindeer are another new addition to this year’s Christmas décor and are a new introduction to Polanco Home Decor’s festive holiday collection.
Living Room
Displayed in the front window of the living room is a snowy white Christmas tree decorated with pink, silver and white ornaments.
Over the years my Mom’s tradition was to buy a decorative mouse ornament for our daughter. We have continued this tradition for our daughter in memory of my Mom.
The living room is sprinkled with an assortment of pale pink decorative trees, reindeer and candle holders. Pink is my favourite colour, if you didn’t already know!
Dining Room
As we enter the formal dining room, our bright fuchsia pink bench is the main focal point where our family & friends love to gather.
I’m cautious when it comes to decorating in the dining area, as I don’t want to take away from the focal point of the vibrant pink velvet fabric on the dining bench. I like to dress the side console with crisp whites and clear glass décor.
Lisa and I laid a long rectangular mirror on the dining table as a foundation for the centerpiece décor. I love the simplicity of the clear crystal reindeer and candle holders, while the mirror adds depth by reflecting the natural light through the crystal.
Kitchen
This year we renovated our kitchen! We updated the dark cabinets and counter tops to bright whites and grays, and replaced the original hardware with crystal and silver handles. I can’t believe how much brighter the room has become!
Next to the kitchen sink is an assortment of fresh eucalyptus in a set of portmeirion vases, and sitting on the window sill is a natural wood nativity set and a set of white bottle brush trees.
I added white winter décor in the kitchen to keep it feeling light and airy. I love the playfulness and style the penguins introduce.Displayed in the kitchen windows are 3 beautiful Norfolk pine wreaths hung with a brown velvet ribbon.
I kept the table décor in the kitchen minimal this year by adding cedar branches to our existing hurricane candle holders, complimenting the vibrant green leaves of the lemon tree in the corner. When we updated our kitchen this past summer, we added the Barilla chairs and counter stools from one of Polanco’s Canadian made furniture lines, Marcantonio Designs.
Family Room
In the family room we recently updated our drapes to a light neutral linen fabric, carrying over the soft white tones of our kitchen, which I love! I wanted to create a modern farmhouse aesthetic in the family room décor, using various wood tones, greens and whites. For this year’s tree I decorated with pearly white, bright green, and gold ornaments, paired with wooden bead garlands to tie it all together.
On the fireplace mantle sits a garland filled with bright green berries, pinecones and an assortment of natural wooden trees and candle holders. Draped in front of the mantle is another wooden bead garland and hanging at each end are antique gold bells, which is carried throughout the house this year.On the coffee table are two tall white candle pillars nestled in small cedar wreaths, a set of my favourite decorative birds and ornaments displayed in a round wooden dish to match the aesthetic in the rest of the family room décor.
Office
Meet Stella, my daughter’s bulldog. She loved being a part of this year’s holiday home tour! The office is a very relaxed working space in our home, as you can tell Stella loves to relax in here.Placed on the ottoman in the office is one of Polanco‘s best selling trays, decorated with 2 antique silver metal trees, a grouping of black candle holders and a vintage dove sitting on winter greenery. I hope you enjoyed this year’s tour and found some inspiration for your own holiday decorating! Cheers to a happy holiday season and a happy New Year from the Renfrew’s!
